The Life of a Polymath

Toni Porrello has been teaching mind/body work since 2006, and has over 2000 hours of formal training in Pilates mat & apparatus, Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Self- Massage and Barre, Lucid Dreaming, Vedanta Philosophy, Nonviolent Communication, Yoga Nidra, and Hypnotherapy. In 2016, Toni opened her Pilates/ Aerial / Yoga studio, True Definition Studios, in Martinsville, NJ. She is also a published writer and English professor, holding a MFA in Creative Writing. A bit of a renaissance woman, she was also a featured singer on the Grammy award winning children's album Songs From The Neighborhood: A Tribute to Mr. Rogers in 2006, and her EP of original music "Smells Like Rain" was featured in Brazil's popular magazine: SPEAK UP in 2011. She has been writing music and singing since childhood and plays the piano and ukulele.

Always fascinated with dreams, Toni explored dream interpretation from a very young age, and minored in psychology in college because of it. Working in the yoga field has helped her to open up to different states of consciousness, and reap the benefit of personal development, mindful awareness, bodywork and meditations such as yoga nidra. Upon realizing the potential of lucid dreaming, she felt an immediate call to make this her life's work. Since, she has become a regular student of Daniel Love's, has taken many courses with Charlie Morley, and leads a dream sharing group for Andrew Holecek's Night Club online. These three inspirational men are leading voices in Lucid Dreaming with best selling books such as, Are You Dreaming? (Love), Dreams of Awakening (Morley), and Dream Yoga (Holecek). She was recently featured in an article about lucid dreaming in the UK Edition of the Independent, along side Daniel Love.

In addition, Toni has been studying Vedanta philosophy since 2014 after meeting Eric Paskel, internationally renowned yoga teacher. She has assisted him all over the world, most memorably for several years at the National Yoga Journal Conference in NYC. She was the driving force, transcriber and editor for Paskel's book The UNFUCKED Code. She also traveled to The Vedanta Academy in India with him in 2019, where she studied to deepen her practice in the philosophy. With the knowledge of Vedanta, Lucid Dreaming, and the more recent addition of studying Nonviolent Communication (developed by Marshall Rosenberg), she is honored to share her approach on spirituality and help others to gain more mindful awareness, stronger communication skills, deepening their self connection while learning to relate better to others and the world we live in.
