In the tumultuous and anxiety ridden life of Ari, there’s only one place where the dark secrets of her past and the raw truth about her life could surface: inside her head.
Meet Ari: The slightly obsessive, quick-witted and tragically troubled twenty-something year old in the midst of her quarter life crisis and on the verge of changing her life. With each chapter, she will find herself in bed (not always her own) and her past will unfold, blending into the present to slowly reveal why she has become who she is: a bright and clever fireball, fighting to not being extinguished by the depths of her pathological despair. Through her thoughts exclusively-- as chaotic or risqué as they might be at times--you will take the journey with her through her past and present relationships, her struggle with alcohol, a tragedy that will alter her life forever and ultimately her mission to find herself

This poem was written by Toni and published by Kean University in 2007, where she is now an adjunct professor and has taught many English courses including Creative Writing, Composition, World Literature, Children’s Literature and YA Literature

Toni is currently working on a full length musical, as well as a romantic thriller and a YA magical realism novel.
